Who we are
Crawlnest Google Indexing ("Crawlnest", "we") is a Shopify app made by MIMIFTAH, LLC. It sends the addresses of new, changed and deleted pages in your Shopify store to Google through the Google Indexing API and, on the Pro plan, to Bing, Yandex, Seznam and Naver through IndexNow. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and for how long.
Information we collect
When you install the app, Shopify gives us access to the data listed on the install screen. We use only what we need:
- Store details: your myshopify.com address and your store's primary domain, so we can build the correct page addresses.
- Content addresses: handles and titles of products, collections, pages and blog posts, used to build the URLs we send and to notice when they change. We do not store product prices, stock levels or descriptions.
- Shopify access token: needed for the app to work. It is encrypted before it is stored.
- Your Google service account key, if you add one. It is encrypted with AES-256 before it is stored, is never shown again, and is used only to call Google for your store.
- A log of each request we send (page address, search engine, time and the answer), so you can see results on the Activity page.
- Your settings and plan, such as whether automatic sending is on.
The app does not read or store orders, customers, payment details, or any personal data of your shoppers. Shopify shows that the app can view blog contributor details because of the content permission it needs to read blog posts; Crawlnest only reads the post addresses and titles, not the contributors.
How we use it
- To send page addresses to Google, and to IndexNow engines when you turn that on.
- To show you what was sent and what the search engines answered.
- To apply the daily limits of your plan and to bill the Pro plan through Shopify.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the services below, and only to run the app.
Services we send data to
- Shopify: to install the app, read your store content and handle billing.
- Google (Indexing API): page addresses from your store, sent with your own Google service account.
- IndexNow (api.indexnow.org, shared with Bing, Yandex, Seznam and Naver): page addresses and your IndexNow key, only on the Pro plan and only if you turn it on.
- Our hosting provider: the app and its database run on our own server (Hostinger).
How long we keep it
- Request logs: 90 days, then they are deleted automatically.
- Your Google key: until you remove it, or until you uninstall the app, whichever comes first. It is deleted straight away when you uninstall.
- Everything else: deleted within 48 hours after you uninstall, when Shopify sends us its data removal request (shop/redact).
If you install the app on a Pro trial, we keep a record that the trial was used so the free trial is offered only once per store.
Security
All traffic to the app uses HTTPS. Access tokens and Google keys are encrypted at rest. The database is reachable only from the app server, and access to the server is limited to our team.
Your choices and rights
You can turn automatic sending off, remove your Google key, or turn IndexNow off at any time inside the app. Uninstalling the app removes your data as described above. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted sooner.
Shopify passes customer data requests and deletions to us automatically. Because Crawlnest stores no customer data, there is nothing to return or delete for a customer.
Changes
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced inside the app.
